Blockaid Detects Malicious Transaction Withdraws $2 Million from Venus Protocol

Blockaid has just detected a real-time malicious transaction, resulting in a loss of 2 million USD from Venus Protocol and other tokens. The incident is related to an "arbitrary function call" vulnerability in the contract 0xb5cb…a87, allowing the attacker to execute unauthorized code.

Blockaid's AI system incorporating blockchain data analysis detected the incident, which is now integrated into many major wallets and dApps. Venus Protocol denies being hacked directly, saying the suspicious transactions only involve external wallets, in line with warnings from the FTC about scams that take advantage of the blockchain's publicity.
