A U.S. court rules that Ledger must face consumer lawsuits in the U.S.

According to the Gate.io News bot and Bloomberg, the U.S. federal court has made a ruling on the lawsuit related to Ledger SAS's cryptocurrency hardware wallet. Judge LaShonda A. Hunt of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois pointed out that although the sales contracts for the Nano S and Nano X hardware devices mention the applicability of French law, this clause is not exclusive. The judge determined that since the consumer's allegations do not depend on the applicability or interpretation of the contract, the contract cannot limit the consumer's place of filing a lawsuit. Consumers had previously accused Ledger SAS of misleading advertising regarding the security of its cryptocurrency password wallet devices.
