Your trading style is the key to success and comfort in the market. Trading outside of your style is a path to stress and losses. It is your financial DNA, combining character, goals, available time, and attitude towards risk.
Main types of trading styles:
Scalper:
Essence: Catching micro-movements in seconds/minutes.
Style: Super Active. Dozens or hundreds of trades a day at the monitor. Minimal risk per trade, but high overall turnover.
For whom: People with quick reactions, iron nerves, who love dynamics. Requires maximum concentration.
Key: Strict discipline, low spreads, fast platform.
Day trader:
Essence: Opening and closing positions within one day.
Style: Active. Several trades a day based on intraday trends and levels.
For whom: Those who can dedicate a few hours a day, are ready for medium risk, and enjoy analysis.
Key: Understanding pricing (Price Action), daily plan, stop-losses.
Swing trader:
Essence: Holding positions from several days to weeks to capture the price "swing".
Style: Calm, patient. Analysis on medium-term timeframes. Fewer trades, higher profit potential per trade.
For whom: Patient strategists who do not have the ability/desire to constantly monitor the market. The risk per trade is higher.
Key: Identifying trend reversals, position management, ignoring market "noise".
Position Trader / Investor:
Essence: Maintaining positions for weeks, months, years. Focus on long-term trends and fundamental factors.
Style: Maximally calm. Goals – capital growth, dividends.
For whom: The most patient, who believe in the "buy and hold" strategy. They do not like market hustle.
Key: Deep fundamental analysis, asset selection, ignoring short-term volatility.
