New York Man Sentenced in Crypto Assets Fraud Case: Father and Son Collaborated to Defraud 12 Million Dollars

Gate.io News bot message, Eugene William Austin Jr., a resident of Long Island, New York (also known as Hugh Austin), was sentenced to 18 years in prison by the court for committing a cryptocurrency investment fraud that defrauded investors of over $12 million. His son Brandon Austin was sentenced to 4 years as an accomplice.

According to the prosecution's disclosure, Austin defrauded victims by falsely promising to provide cryptocurrency trading matching, short-term high-yield investment projects, and introducing investors to startups, and then used these funds for personal luxury consumption.
