Tillis: I will not bow to anyone (Trump) when the people of North Carolina are in danger.

"I spoke with President Trump last night. I thought we had reached a consensus when I left, but that was not the case," Tillis said. "I have been thinking about this, so it seems like it's time to directly tell him that I will not run again."

The North Carolina senator added, "I respect President Trump, I support most of his agenda, but when the people of North Carolina are in danger, I will not bow to anyone, and this bill puts them in danger."

When asked if there is room in today's Republican Party to oppose Trump, he said: "If you have the courage."

When asked if he felt a weight lifted off his shoulders, Tillis joked, "I’ve never felt any pressure. I slept like a baby last night."
