The Malaysian Securities Commission has proposed a new plan for the listing of digital assets, with trading volume expected to reach a new high in 2024.

Gate News bot message, the Securities Commission of Malaysia (SC) recently released a consultation document proposing new regulatory schemes for digital asset trading. According to the document, eligible digital assets can be listed on the exchange without prior approval.

At the same time, SC has strengthened the governance requirements for digital asset exchanges (DAX) platforms and proposed stricter measures for customer asset segregation. The new regulations also include requirements to raise the financial thresholds for the platform.

Data shows that in 2024, the total trading volume of digital assets in Malaysia reached 13.9 billion ringgit (approximately 2.9 billion USD), setting a historical record. The public consultation period is set from June 30 to August 11.
