On January 21, Jinshi Data reported that on January 20, Slovak Prime Minister Fico, who was visiting Turkey, stated that Russian natural gas could be transported to Slovakia via the 'Turkish Stream' pipeline, and Turkish President Erdogan is providing the possibility for this. Fico criticized Ukraine for terminating the transit of Russian natural gas during his meeting with Erdogan, and Erdogan immediately proposed further contact between the relevant departments of the two sides and cooperation with Russia to enable Slovakia to continue to obtain natural gas from Russia. Erdogan promised to consider Slovakia's needs and said he would discuss the issue with the Russian side later this week.
