Abstract generation in progress

PANews 30 January news, Cardano successfully activated the long-awaited 'Plomin' hard fork upgrade on Wednesday this week. This upgrade allows ADAToken holders to participate in Cardano's future decision-making, including voting on treasury measures and hard forks. The core change of this upgrade is the full introduction of Delegate Representatives (dReps), who will vote on governance issues instead of ADA Tokenholders. Previously, Cardano's governance was the responsibility of the three founding entities: the Cardano Foundation, Input Output Global (IOHK), and Emurgo. Now, these responsibilities have been transferred to the new Cardano governance team. Before the Plomin goes live, the staking pool operators need to upgrade their nodes and approve the upgrade through a 51% vote. As of this week, approximately 85% of the nodes have switched to the new version. Earlier news, Cardano's 2025 roadmap: intends to explore becoming a smart contract layer for Bitcoin.
