SparX: how the wallet for TON, Hamster Network, and other TVM networks works

In early 2025, ForkLog published a review of the Tycho protocol from Broxus for creating first and second level TVM networks. For its test, the project party recommended downloading the SparX wallet.

We decided to take a closer look at how it works, what features it offers, and whether it is worth installing for users of The Open Network (TON).

What is SparX

SparX is a non-custodial wallet for the TON, Everscale, Venom blockchains, the Tycho testnet, the L2 solution Hamster Network, and other TVM networks.

SparX was developed by Broxus. Drawing on the experience of creating EVER Wallet, the project party presented a more versatile multi-chain application with a built-in browser for decentralized applications (dapps).

"The goal of SparX is to unify interaction with TVM networks. Everscale was the first such blockchain launched in 2020, but later others emerged, such as TON and Venom. Today, SparX is the only wallet for storing and managing assets across all TVM networks," said Broxus.

How to use SparX

The wallet is available on Android, iOS, and as a browser extension. The source code is open on GitHub. To install SparX, you need to download the app/extension, then create a new seed phrase or import an existing one.

We chose to import the recovery phrase ( in our case from the TON wallet Tonkeeper). To do this, after installing the application:

  • clicked the I already have one button;
  • selected the TON network, confirmed Use secret recovery phrase and wrote/copied the seed phrase;
  • selected the seed format. When importing the seed phrase from 24 words, the format is determined automatically. If the seed is 12 words, the format must be selected manually: TON wallet ( for seeds created in other wallets) or SparX wallet;
  • set a password and configured biometric authentication.

Data: SparX.After creating or importing a wallet, its owner immediately gains access to all TVM networks.

Addresses in SparX may look unusual for TON users. In TVM networks, the same address can be represented in different formats — any of them is suitable for transactions.

For example, in TON there are three formats: Bounceable ( starting with E), Non-bounceable (U), and RAW/HEX (0:). SparX users see the last one. If you enter it in the blockchain explorer Tonviewer, you will be taken to the page of your "usual" TON address. If in Hamster Scan, it will be displayed as an account next to the address format in TON.

"Private keys are stored locally and encrypted - you have complete control over your funds. There is no collection of personal data - your privacy is our priority," says Broxus.

In March, Broxus introduced the Chain Connect bridge for transferring assets between TVM and EVM networks.

The project party is also working on the SparX extension for Firefox, updating the dapp browser, and supporting the TON Connect protocol.

Conclusions

TVM networks include not only The Open Network, which has secured a place in the top 20 of CoinMarketCap thanks to support from Telegram, but also other projects like the L1 blockchain Everscale and the L2 solution Hamster Network.

However, the liquidity of these networks is fragmented, and most of them are developing as autonomous projects. The SparX wallet from Broxus aims to unite all TVM networks in one interface. The success of this initiative depends on developers and user interest not only in TON but also in the broader ecosystem of TVM blockchains.
