Microsoft's gaming division initiates large-scale layoffs.

Jin10 Data reported on July 2nd that Microsoft's (MSFT.O) gaming division began notifying employees of layoffs on Wednesday morning, initiating a large-scale layoff process. According to informed sources, Microsoft's King division located in Barcelona will lay off 10%, which is about 200 positions. This division is responsible for the Candy Crush game. Other European offices, such as ZeniMax, have also begun notifying employees of layoffs. It is expected that later on Wednesday, the U.S. branches will be informed about how many employees will be laid off in each office. As of January 2024, Microsoft's gaming division has about 20,000 employees.
