Oasys releases a new technology roadmap focusing on the upgrade of blockchain gaming infrastructure.
Oasys Launches New Technology Roadmap, Committed to Building Infrastructure for Blockchain Games
The Japanese gaming public chain Oasys recently released its latest technical roadmap, aimed at addressing the technical challenges currently faced in the blockchain gaming sector and providing stronger underlying support for the Web3 gaming ecosystem. As a public chain focused on bringing traditional games into the Web3 space, this initiative by Oasys marks a new development stage as it celebrates its second anniversary.
The new technology roadmap revolves around three core areas: application data availability, layer two interoperability, and ecosystem scalability. These directions directly address the pain points in the current development of blockchain games, aiming to create a better gaming experience for developers and players.
Despite the continuous advancements in blockchain technology in recent years, there are still some technical shortcomings in practical applications. Oasys has proposed targeted solutions by updating its technology roadmap.
First, to address the issue of game asset continuity, Oasys proposed an innovative method of mirroring game assets from layer two to layer one. This ensures that even if the layer two data is discarded, users' game assets remain permanently protected.
Secondly, in response to the interoperability challenges between layer two networks, Oasys plans to introduce cross-chain bridges, adopt universal data formats, and standardize APIs. This will make data and asset transfers between different games more convenient and secure.
Finally, in order to enhance the scalability of the ecosystem, Oasys closely collaborates with partners to provide tools such as the Verse Development Kit (VDK), helping enterprises quickly deploy high-quality Layer 2 networks, thereby accelerating project launches and focusing on content development.
Oasys's technology roadmap is divided into two phases: short-term (within 1 year) and mid-term (2-3 years). The short-term goals include standardizing game asset specifications, creating practical use cases, and providing VDK. The mid-term plan focuses on addressing protocol layer issues, achieving interoperability between layers, and providing more developer tools.
It is worth noting that Oasys has made significant progress in short-term planning. In May alone, several practical use cases went live, including the launch of the L2 chain XPLA Verse, as well as the on-chain versions of the well-known games "Summoners War: Chronicles" and "The Walking Dead: All-Stars." In addition, the blockchain game based on the classic comic "Captain Tsubasa" was also officially launched on the Oasys platform.
In expanding its ecosystem, Oasys has partnered with several large enterprises this year. This includes a collaboration with Japan's SBI Group, aimed at increasing its influence in the Japanese crypto gaming and NFT market, as well as a partnership with South Korea's internet giant Kakao's Web3 gaming division, Metabora SG, to support its entry into the Japanese market.
Through this series of measures, Oasys not only demonstrates its technological innovation capabilities and strategic vision in the blockchain gaming field, but also highlights its determination to collaborate with industry-leading companies to jointly promote the development of blockchain games. With the gradual implementation of the technical roadmap, Oasys is steadily moving towards the vision of building global standards for blockchain gaming, creating real value for players and developers, while bringing innovative experiences and opportunities to the entire gaming industry.
