Nike Launches NFT Event in Fortnite

Sportswear and footwear giant Nike has hinted at the launch of an NFT collection featuring sports shoes in Epic Games' online game Fortnite.

Fortnite, one of the most popular online games of recent times, has recorded over 242 million monthly active players in the past month alone. Considering this high number of visits, Nike's move in collaboration with Fortnite is believed to present a significant opportunity for the adoption of Web3.

Nike recently announced through its social media platforms that it will be launching an event called "Sneakerhunt" starting from June 20th.

While specific details about the event have not been disclosed, it is speculated that Nike may have created a game related to NFTs using Fortnite Creative 2.0, which allows users to create virtual island game maps using their Fortnite assets.

Furthermore, it has not been fully confirmed whether the NFTs will be part of the Airphoria collection.

On the other hand, Nike's department dedicated to NFT events has been stepping up its efforts to enter the traditional gaming sector.

Last June, the company revealed that its NFTs would be integrated into games developed by EA Sports, the company behind the FIFA football game series, among others. However, it has not been confirmed yet which EA Sports games will feature Nike's NFTs.
