Floki Valhalla Patch 0.35.0 Brings New Strategic Upgrades: Details | BSCN (fka BSC News)

Floki’s Valhalla released its latest and most content-packed update yet—Valhalla Patch 0.35.0. Touted as a transformative milestone for its flagship metaverse MMORPG, this update introduces new characters, deeper combat mechanics, and a strategic resource system that elevates gameplay.

Worth noting, Floki prepares for the official mainnet launch of Valhalla on June 30, 2025.

Floki calls this release “a new wave of power”—and that’s not hyperbole. Patch 0.35.0 brings several foundational changes to how players engage with the Valhalla universe.

Three new Veras—Orni, Grabbur, and Trojun—have joined the ecosystem. Each offers unique combat styles, from explosive geysers and molten attacks to precision-based shard shots. These fresh characters are designed to shift the balance of power on Floki Island, opening the door for fresh tactics and unpredictable outcomes in PvE and PvP combat.

But characters alone aren’t the story here.

Strategy Goes Deeper

The standout feature of this update is Vera Essence, a new species-specific resource that replaces amulets as a reward for battling and leveling up. Players can now use Vera Essence at the Tracker’s to target specific species. High-level Veras released from the Daycare also grant Vera Essence, with more rewards based on their stat allocations.

This system pushes players to think long-term. Collecting Vera Essence is no longer about grinding, but about optimizing growth paths and maximizing the value of each Vera raised.

Complementing this is the new Amulet Enchantment system. Every Amulet can now be enchanted at the Professor’s lodge, providing stat boosts to the Vera it houses. Players can level up these enchanted items by fusing other Veras into them, up to five levels. The result is a stronger, more personalized connection between Amulet and Vera, making every lineup unique.

Combat Becomes Sharper, Smoother, and More Tactical

Patch 0.35.0 overhauls combat mechanics to make them feel more responsive and strategic. Players can now switch freely between Veras during their turn, coordinating attacks before the timer expires. It brings a new dimension of flexibility to each encounter, encouraging smarter plays over brute force.

In a bid to encourage diversity in battle formations, the patch also prohibits bringing more than one Vera of the same species into a fight. This change will likely shape the competitive meta and push players to explore the full roster of characters.

A More Organic, Living Game World

Veras now regenerate health over time after PvE battles. But the rate of regeneration depends on where they rest. A high-tier Amulet will restore them faster, while the Daycare offers an even better recovery environment. And if a Vera rests in the Daycare for over 12 hours, it receives a 10-battle EXP boost—rewarding players who plan ahead.

Another major addition is the ability to transfer a Vera into a new Amulet. But this is not a free swap, as the original Amulet is destroyed in the process. It’s a calculated risk that forces players to weigh benefits against costs.

Flokitars Find Their Purpose

Players can now bring Flokitars into the game from their wallets and exchange them for in-game rewards. Viking Effects, Helmitars, Flokitar Emotes, Runix items—the Blacksmith in Valhalla has them all. For longtime holders, this is a long-awaited moment where their collectibles finally gain real utility.

Events and Racing Return

Patch 0.35.0 also brings back a fan-favorite: hill racing events. Players can now race their friends in a new Easter-style mini-event designed for bragging rights and leaderboard glory. It’s a refreshing change of pace that adds a casual, social element to Valhalla’s grind-heavy ecosystem.

UX Improvements and Bug Fixes

In terms of polish, the update brings clearer ability descriptions, better feedback on disabled actions, and an overhauled stash that now includes Vera Essence. Mail and settings data have been reset due to a backend upgrade, which may inconvenience some but was necessary for broader stability.

Numerous bugs were also addressed, from invisible items and emotes during movement to display issues on the game-over screen

Marketing Muscle Behind the Code

This technical leap is being matched by an aggressive marketing campaign aimed at making Valhalla a household name before its mainnet launch. Floki is running national television ads on CNBC, Bloomberg, and Fox Business, targeting over 219 million U.S. households.

It’s also secured a high-profile Reuters Times Square billboard, where Valhalla gets 20 ads per hour—day and night.

Meanwhile, Floki is placing mobile-first ads in blockbuster games like Candy Crush and Call of Duty: Mobile, targeting emerging markets in India, Nigeria, Vietnam, and Argentina. These interactive trailers are expected to generate over 2.25 million impressions.

On the social side, Floki has launched ad campaigns on Reddit subreddits and Twitch, generating another 5 million impressions combined. These platforms are home to crypto natives and serious gamers—the exact audience Valhalla wants to attract.

The outreach doesn’t stop there. Floki recently sponsored Global Esports Industry Week, giving thousands of attendees a hands-on preview of Valhalla and a keynote address that boldly declared: Web3 gaming is going mainstream.
