New York Stock exchange and encryption asset regulatory working group meet to discuss encryption asset regulation
In a recent TechFlow announcement, on June 25th, according to a memorandum from the U.S. SEC meeting, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) team met with the Cryptocurrency Working Group on June 24th to discuss issues related to the regulation of encryption assets. NYSE attendees included General Counsel Jaime Klima, Chief Product Officer Jon Herrick, Deputy General Counsel Patrick Troy, and Chief Regulatory Officer Tony Frouge.
The main topics of the meeting revolve around three aspects: first, to promote a fair competitive environment, emphasize the equality between market participants, avoid adopting different regulatory systems for similar assets and entities; second, discuss the factors to consider in the tokenization of stocks and promote the structure of such transactions; and third, explore the trading products of Crypto Assets exchange, including the general listing standards for spot Crypto Assets ETFs and the regulatory treatment of other potential underlying Crypto Assets trading products.
