A new Chrome zero-day vulnerability has been exploited, and Google has released an emergency out-of-band patch.
PANews June 3 news, according to The Hacker News report, Google has urgently released a security update for the Chrome browser to fix a critical zero-day vulnerability CVE-2025-5419 that is being exploited in the wild. This vulnerability exists in the V8 JavaScript engine and was discovered by Google's Threat Analysis Group (TAG). Attackers have exploited this vulnerability through malicious HTML pages. Users are advised to upgrade to Chrome version 137.0.7151.68/.69 (for Windows and macOS) and version 137.0.7151.68 (for Linux) to mitigate potential threats. Additionally, users of Chromium-based browsers (such as Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi) are also recommended to apply the patch promptly when it becomes available.
